Nestled in the UNESCO-listed Barberton Makhonjwa Mountains, our lodge offers a sanctuary where African heritage meets breathtaking tranquility.
Loved by guests globally
"We didn't just build a lodge; we wanted to share the silence of these ancient mountains with the world."
When we first stood on this ridge, looking out over the Kingdom of Eswatini, we realized that this land had been waiting for us for four billion years. The Makhonjwa Mountains aren't just a destination; they are the cradle of life itself.
In the spirit of Ubuntu—"I am because we are"—we provide exceptional customer service not as a business requirement, but as a genuine extension of our own home. Here, the barriers between host and traveler dissolve.
We share our table, our stories, and the profound quiet that only the oldest mountains on Earth can provide—offering a sanctuary for meditation and mental wellness.
Welcome home.
A decade-long journey of honoring the Earth. Witness how we transformed a rugged ridge into a sanctuary of Swati heritage and natural luxury.
Land Acquired
In 2010, the first seed was planted. We acquired this pristine ridge, overlooking the valleys of Eswatini, with a vision to create a sanctuary that honors the land and its history.
The Vision — 2010
The Rondavel, Kitchen & KaMkhulu
Construction began with a clear purpose: to establish a rural home that would grow into a tourism destination. Embracing the Swati design language, we built the first three Rondavels to blend into the rural setting, reflecting cultural identity and African heritage.
Rooted in Heritage — 2013
Kagogo & Eswatini Chalets
Our expansion brought the Kagogo and Eswatini Chalets to life. Using local rocks and natural materials, we built structures that feel like an extension of the mountain, focusing on providing guests with breathtaking views of Eswatini.
Built from the Earth — 2016
Aloe Chalet - Honeymoon Suite
The Aloe Chalet represents a modernized evolution of the traditional Beehive house (Guqa-sithandaze). This self-catering honeymoon suite combines ancient Zulu-Swazi architectural wisdom with contemporary luxury.
Modern Tradition — 2020
Forest View Chalet
Our latest masterpiece, the Forest View Chalet, redefines immersion. This honeymoon suite offers a unique ambiance where you can relax and view the forest from every corner—including the sanctuary of your bathroom.
A Window to the Woods — 2025

We believe in the ability to be self-sustainable. From the furniture you touch to the food on our table, every element is a conversation between us and the local environment.
We have embarked on designing and providing our own furniture to communicate our identity. Each piece is a tribute to the ancient mountains surrounding us.
Our cows provide meat throughout the year, ensuring a direct connection from the land to our table.
The local environment plays a key part in our identity. We don't just exist on this land; we are shaped by it. Every sunset, every stone, and every seasonal change informs who we are and how we serve you.
Our bee farming is a sacred dance with nature. We work with the legendary African Killer Bees, a species that demands respect and deep understanding.
Following ancient wisdom, our bees are only harvested during a Full Moon, and only during months without the letter "r"—the window of tranquility from May to August.
During harvest season, guests are invited to witness the ancient ritual of a fresh bee harvest, experiencing firsthand the raw beauty of mountain sustenance.
Rooted in interconnectedness, our experiences are designed to help you disconnect from the noise and reconnect with the soul.
